Austin Great Wall Chinese School (AGWCS) is a non-profit organization registered with city government. The school was established in 1994. Since then, it has been serving the community by teaching Chinese language, art, and culture. It has also been involving in a lot other community activities. Started with only 60 students in 1994, AGWCS has grown fast. Currently, it has over 400 students enrolled, being the largest Chinese language school in Austin areas.
AGWCS keeps the same school calendar as Austin Independent School District, two semesters within each school year, and average 15 school days in each semester. The school meets from 2:00pm to 5:50pm on Sundays. The first two hours are devoted to Chinese language learning for the students with Chinese background. From 4:00 to 4:50, the school offers other classes like Math, Art, Music, Dance, Kunfu, Taiji, Chess, Badminton and Chinese calligraphy… Bilingual classes are offered to children and adults without Chinese background who descent to learn Chinese as their second language from 4:00 to 5:50pm.

奥斯汀长城中文学校成立于1994年，是一个服务于当地华人华侨，以教授中文为主的非营利机构。学校的办学宗旨是弘扬中华文化、提高中文水平、陶冶学生情操、促进中西文化交流。
奥斯汀长城中文学校教学体系完整，师资力量雄厚，所开课程齐全。目前中文教学共有23个班级，形成了一个涵盖从学前班、一年级直到十年级的完整的教学体系。另外，学校还为高年级学生开设了针对性更强的中文AP提高班和中文写作班。中文班的学生人数达到了400多人。经过十多年的教学实践和探索，教师和家长逐步总结出一整套针对海外华人子弟中文教学的有效方法。在教学管理上对教师的质量和教案严格把关，现有教师至少具有大学以上学历。学校还开设有数学、美术、音乐、舞蹈、武术、国际象棋、羽毛球、太极、瑜伽等课程。针对母语不是中文的学生，学校还开设了从初级到高级的儿童和成人双语班。
奥斯汀长城中文学校在中文教育上提倡听说并重、读写跟上。学校制定出完整的教学大纲，由浅入深，系统地教授中文知识，并介绍中国文化、历史、地理常识。实践证明，通过课堂上讲解得透，家庭作业布置得精，复习考试覆盖得全，绝大多数学生能在100-30 的教学模式中（周日100分钟上课，平日30分钟作业）学习和掌握教学大纲所要求的内容。学生经过几年的学习，中文听说和读写水平显著提高，去年有多位学生通过各类中文水平考试（YCT，中文AP），有多位学生在世界华人写作大赛中荣获一、二、三等奖。
奥斯汀长城中文学校的教学和管理工作由理事会成员负责。理事会成员一般为7人，分别担任校长、副校长、教务、财务、外事、网管和家长联络等职务。担任理事会的工作人员均为学生家长志愿者。学校租用奥斯汀学区WEBB中学的教室和设施。校址在奥斯汀市区的中部，位于州际35号高速公路西侧，交通便利。学校的体育场馆和餐厅对家长开放，家长们不仅可以有机会结交到更多的朋友，而且可以通过打篮球、羽毛球、练瑜伽或太极锻炼身体，并可免费上网。学校还定期聘请专业人士免费为家长举办各类实用讲座（美容保健、家庭理财、摄影、书法等）。奥斯汀长城中文学校设有自己的网站www.agwcs.org ，学生和家长可以通过网站注册登记、查看有关课程及教学要求。
奥斯汀长城中文学校理事会 School Board
The school is managed by the school board. The board members are all volunteers and serve 12-month for one school year. After that the board is taken over by the new board members for the next turn. Most of the active board members are parents of the AGWCS students.
学校管理由学校理事会执行﹐理事会成员全部为志愿者﹐每年轮换一次。很多理事会成员是学生家长。
